Watkin Jones are now looking to appoint an Architectural Technician (Assistant Design Manager) to take responsibility for the development and progress of the design principles and specification for Residential.
As part of the role you will be required to continuously review and develop design principles and specification, which include; facilitating layout designs for communal spaces and apartments including; bathroom POD, kitchen, appliances and fitted wardrobe development including producing drawings as required. The Development Manager will work with a Construction Director to explore and develop build / construction strategies and gather market knowledge on future Build to Rent projects and the marketplace in general. Scheduling, coordinating and attending Build to Rent focus group meetings and producing an accurate set of minutes, you will review and visit competitors in the market and produce detailed reports and analysis, presenting to the team for debate.
Although this role is initially a 9 - 12month contract to cover maternity leave, there is a strong possibility of it leading to a permanent position within our Development / Technical Team.
This role would suit a highly organised individual who holds a recognised construction related qualification (architectural, construction management etc) and who has a strong design / technical background. Confident liaising with Architects, Local Authorities, Management Teams and Sub-Contractors, you will have strong communication skills and be able to effectively participate and lead in meetings. Knowledge of the building construction process is also a must.
